Praise the Lord for no wind. The area I live in has only 6 inches of snow. The seneray outside my window is stunning. The trees are covered a little and my yard has no prints on it so it looks like a small mountain. A few birds are out sitting on anything not covered with snow. The county snow plows are going past so my Hubby is able to get out and explore to see how the highway is and check on our livestock. A lot of schools have canceled for the day so a wide are of our part of the state is shoveling out. According to a blog friend her part of Indiana had freezing rain. She lives in an area of hills and curves.
Last night Hubby and I attended a barn burner of a girls basketball game. The JV won by 1 point and gave the other team their first defeat of the season. The Varsity won a well fought game. Three seniors were honored and the parents have a small celebration after the game. This is the girls last game before sectional begins next week. They will play the same team in their first game. The game will be just as exciting as the one last night.

Good Afternoon Joyce,
I'm glad yall didn't get the winds that you thought you might have. I bet the Snow is beautiful outside your window and the birds out there as well. They are probably looking for some food. Hopefully the roads aren't too bad. I had talked to my DH around 4:25a.m. this morning and he had just pulled into a Truck Stop in Lincoln, IL. He said it was so bad that he couldn't see the roads anymore. I'm glad he pulled into the Truck Stop. He called me back a few minutes ago and they had just made it thru St. Louis, MO. He said the roads are still in bad shape. Hopefully, they will be able to make it home later this afternoon. I so worry about him being out there on the roads when it is bad. Glad the JV won their game. Maybe they can beat the same team when they have to play them again. That game sounds like the one like our youngest daughter's team played in their tournament not too long ago in which they won by 1 point. I love a good game, but when they are that close, whewwww, it's bad on the nerves. LOL. Take care my friend and have a great day and weekend. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
I am glad your weather isn't as bad as they had called for. What ya cooking? It's a good day to be indoors! i hope to leave tomorrow...but will take the laptop..there is no escape...LOL! Hugs!( glad the basketball is going so well)
Glad you enjoyed the basketball game, Joyce. I, too, love the game of basketball.
I wish Karen and I could see a good snow fall before Spring gets here. We both want to see snow so badly.
I'm glad you enjoyed the lamps.
I couldn't sleep so I thought I would visit some friends! I know what you mean by a "real barnburner." My grandchildren all play basketball - from age 6 to 15 - and their games are so much fun to watch. Our snow is all gone today. I guess the groundhog saw his shadow, so I suppose we will get more snow soon. Blessings, Cricket
