Saying Grace

Please enjoy. Received this from a friend and know that others will love to read it.

Saying Grace in a Restaurant

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant.
My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.
As we bowed our heads he said, 'God is good, God is great. Thank you
for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream
for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!'

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a
woman remark, 'That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't
even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!'
Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, 'Did I do it wrong?
Is God mad at me?'
As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God
was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the
table.
He winked at my son and said, 'I happen to know that God thought that
was a great prayer.'
'Really?' my son asked.
'Cross my heart,' the man replied.
Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose
remark had started this whole thing), 'Too bad she never asks God for
ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes.'

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son
stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the
rest of my life.
He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it
in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, 'Here, this is for
you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good
already.'

The End
I hope God sends you some Ice Cream today!

Good Morning Joyce,
I remember reading this one day last week. It is such a touching story. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. We always need little reminders about Prayer and GOD. I hope it has warmed up your way. It is 27 degrees here right now. There was a very light frost out this morning when I took the girls to School. My DH made it home last night around 11:45p.m. I heated up our supper that the girls and me had last night and he really loved it. He always loves a good homecooked meal. We sat up and talked a while and went to bed around 12:30a.m. I usually get up around 4:30a.m., but I reset my alarm to go off at 5:30a.m. I will get me a nap here in a bit. I'm having my bowl of cereal right now. When you have time today, please drop by. I have some things for you on my post today. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

I've also seen this previously. It always makes me smile. And it reminds me of a time when my nephew was about 4 years old. We had planned a picnic for his birthday. It rained the day before the picnic and again that morning. As we were setting out the food we had to dry off the picnic table and kept an eye on the sky for rain. As he said the blessing on the food my nephew included these words, "Thank you that it doesn't rain." It didn't.

I have read that before and it always blesses my heart... I remember one Sunday dinner at Moms when we would all gather around the table and eat and laugh..... my oldest son Darryl wanted to say grace,,,,,, he must have been about 8 or so........ we all bowed our heads and he began.... I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America...... He made it all through the pleaded and we ALL kept our cool and he never knew that the laughter behind the quiet smiles...... it was one of those "moments"
