A Thoughtful Valentines Day Thursday

As you see from the card above the candy in the picture is my most favorite candy and Valentines Day is my most favorite holiday. Love is in the air on this day and cards, candy, flowers, and many other thoughts are given on this one day of the year.

In the book of Mark Jesus is asked a question by a scribe and the question he asked was "Which is the first commandment of all?" and in Mark 12: 29-31 "Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And Thou shalt Love The Lord Thy God With All Thy Heart, And With All Thy Soul, And With All Thy Mind, And With All Thy Strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou Shalt Love Thy Neightbour As Thyself. There is nome other commandment greater than these." (KJ)

I want to talk about loving your neighbor and that includes the children. On Monday and Tuesday I met two children who I beieved are not loved by family members. The fisrt child I met was being called mean by a fellow classmate. I saw a sad face wanting to say I am not mean, but did not know how to say it. I heard the exchange and came up to the two of them and wanted to know why it was thought the one child was mean. I said I believe there are no mean children. The child being called mean put their arms around my waist and gave me a silent thank you. Then in another class I met the second child who is a child who is on medicaation for AHDD or one of those type of problems. This child does not like touch. I spent special time with this child to let them know that someone cared. Maybe you know a child who would love someone tell them they are special and loved.

Good Afternoon Joyce,
What a beautiful post about LOVE. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. That was really nice of you to treat those kids the way you did. One never knows what kind of home those kids come from and we should treat them like we would our own kids and also a child of GOD. I do feel sorry for those kinds of kids, and I know that GOD is watching down on them. I've not had a very good day. Our oldest daughter is still sick and wasn't able to go to School today. She even passed out on me once this afternoon. You talk about being scared. I would appreciate it if you would pray for her. We are going to take her to the doctor tomorrow. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

I love what you did for those two children. What better way to express love on Valentine's Day or any day for that matter than to show kindness, love and attention to someone who is obviously not shown much love at all in their daily lives. You did two good deeds here with these children.

Hi Joyce,
I visit my grandchildren's school from time to time and I have come to know a family of 4 children, all in different grades, who all seem very sad and angry. I have often wondered what kind of home life they must have for all of them to be of the same temperment. What is one to do but pray for them?
