"Momma prayed, momma cried, momma laid awake at night.
She would fight my battles while I slept away
Cause momma knew life is hard
without somebody on your side
I don't know how, but there is power in the way,
The way my momma prayed."
words and music by Jeremiah Olson of 40milesNorth
When this quote was read, I thought about my oldest daughter and her bout with the flu which lasted a week with another week to get her strength back. I wanted to be there to make her chicken soup, give her medicine to make her feel better and hold Her in my arms. She lives 3 and 1/2 hours away and is 29 years old so all I could do was pray and fight Her battles while she slept.
From the second I learned I was going to have each of my girls I started praying. I had no idea what the impact would be on their lives. Knowing there lives would not be easy and wanting to make it as easy as possible I continued to pray. Then when they were born I started praying for the man they would marry. God listens and He answers. He gave me 2 beautiful, smart, and God loving girls and that is more than the pray I prayed in the beginning. What a son-in-law God chose for my youngest daughter. Again more than I had prayed for. They are in God's arms and I will pray for them for ever.
Interceeding for Children is a blog that directs individuals in how to pray for children. They make it personnal and general. As Mothers we will pray for our children and then our grandchildren. Like the quote we will loose sleep, fight battles, and make life as easy as possible for them. There are other children who come into our lives to pray for and we have to since many of them have no one who cares who they are enough to pray for them and their safety.

Good Afternoon Joyce,
I have just woke back up from a nap a bit ago. I have been sneezing and feel like I'm coming down with something. I sure hope not. My DH called me about an hour ago and said he wouldn't be in tonight. They have to do a relay for another team. He said he should be home by Friday tho. I so love this post about children. It is so true. I'm glad GOD heard your prayers and answered them about your daughters. We must pray for our children and instill what is right and wrong in their hearts hoping they will remember what we have told them. And also the other children out there that doesn't have anyone to pray for them. I have got to run some errands here in a bit, so I better go and get ready. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
I hope your daughter is better by the time you read this. I have never had the flu, and I don't ever want it. It doesn't sound like fun to me. I will pray for her, too.
