A Pray Answered

GOD Is Busy If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!! A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU. One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What in the
world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.' The classroom erupted in cheers! THIS IS GOOD; KEEP IT GOING. AMEN!!

Answer To A Prayer

She approached the owner of the store in a most
humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable
to work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John
Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his
store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said:
'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as
soon as I
can.'

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did
not have a charge account at his store.

Standing beside the
counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two.
The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand
good for whatever she needed for her family.
The grocer said in a
very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?'

Louise
replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on the
scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that
amount in groceries.'

Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed
head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper
and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the
scale carefully with her head still bowed.

The eyes of the
grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and
stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly
to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.'


The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the
groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance
so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the
scales would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter
disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and
looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list,
it was a prayer, which said:

'Dear Lord,
you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.'


The grocer gave her the groceries
that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise
thanked him and left the store.
The other customer handed a
fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said;

'It was worth every
penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.'

THE
POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all
you have to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of
thanks for your own good fortune.
Then please send this to all your
friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this
testimony out with prayer in faith, you will receive what you need God
to do in your and your families' life .

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide
food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as
we do. Amen & Amen

Prayer is one
of the best free gifts we receive.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards.

After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong!

Spring

Spring is here in Indiana and as I took clothes off the cloths line I just took time to listen to the birds and frogs. Then I took a breath of the spring air and just praised the Lord for just that moment in time, for the fresh smell of clothes blowing in the wind, and the beautiful sunshine. Hubby is enjoying the longer days to get ready for the planting season and a time of the birth of baby pigs and loading corn on wagons to take to town to sell. I pray that you are enjoying the grass greening up and growing knowing the time of mowing is just around the corner.

Five Finger Prayer

I thought it was worth passing on. (Author Unknown).

1. Your Thunb is nearest you. So begin your prayer by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as c.c. Lewis said, a "sweet duty".

2. The next finger is the point finter, Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors and ministries. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger: as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak in trouble or in pain. They need our prayers day and night. You cannot pray to much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger, the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you". Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray fpr yourself more effective.

A Prayer

Dear God,

The lady reading this is beautiful, classy and strong, and I love her. Help her live her life to the fullest. Please promote her and cause her to excel above her expectations. Help her shine in the darkest places where it is impossible to love. Protect her at all times, lift her up when she needs you the most, and let her know when she walks with you, she will always be safe. Love you all.

Dart Test

Lately I have been receiving many thought provoking e-mails and have been led to share some of them through this blog. I pray you will get something out of each I will be sharing in the next weeks.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking...

Dart Test...
A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith . She says that Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry , and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend. Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smith said only these words... 'In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me .'
Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.

This is an easy test; you score 100 or zero. It's your choice.

Isn't it funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Isn't it funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Isn't it funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Or is it scary?

Isn't it funny how someone can say 'I believe in God ' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God ).

Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and! they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord , people think twice about sharing.

Isn't it funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Isn't it funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Are you laughing?

Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.

I have to share this with you after I read it. Please enjoy.

Breakfast at McDonald's

I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree.
The last class I had to take was Sociology.
The teacher as absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with.
Her last project of the term was called, 'Smile.'
The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions.
I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway. So, I thought this would be a piece of cake,
literally.

Soon after we were assigned the project, my husband, youngest son, and I went out to McDonald's one crisp March morning.
It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son.
We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began to back away, and then even my husband did.
I did not move an inch... an overwhelming feeling of panic welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved.
As I turned around I smelled a horrible 'dirty body' smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men.
As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me, he was 'smiling'
His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of God's Light as he searched for acceptance.
He said, 'Good day' as he counted the few coins he had been clutching.
The second man fumbled with his hands as he stood behind his friend. I realized the second man was mentally challenged and the blue-eyed gentleman was his salvation.
I held my tears as I stood there with them.
The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted.
He said, 'Coffee is all Miss' because that was all they could afford. (If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up, they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm).
Then I really felt it - the compulsion was so great I almost reached out and embraced the little man with the blue eyes.
That is when I noticed all eyes in the
restaurant were set on me, judging
my every action.
I smiled and asked the young lady behind the counter to give me two more breakfast meals on a separate tray.
I then walked around the corner to the table that the men had chosen as a resting spot. I put the tray on the table and laid my hand on the blue-eyed gentleman's cold hand.
He looked up at me, with tears in his eyes, and said, 'Thank you.'
I leaned over, began to pat his hand and said, 'I did not do this for you. God is here working through me to give you hope.'
I started to cry as I walked away to join my husband and son. When I sat down my husband smiled at me and said, 'That is why God gave you to me, Honey, to give me hope..'

We held hands for a moment and at that time, we knew that only because of the Grace that we had been given were we able to give.
We are not church goers, but we are believers.
That day showed me the pure Light of God's sweet love.

I returned to college, on the last evening of class, with this story in hand..
I turned in 'my project' and the instructor read it.
Then she looked up at me and said, 'Can I share this?'
I slowly nodded as she got the attention of the class.
She began to read and that is when I knew that we as human beings and being part of God share this need to heal people and to be healed.

In my own way I had touched the people at McDonald's, my son,the instructor, and every soul that shared the classroom on the last night I spent as a college student.
I graduated with one of the biggest lessons I would ever learn:

UNCONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE.

LOVE PEOPLE AND USE THINGS -

NOT LOVE THINGS AND USE PEOPLE.

How many do you remember?
Ah,
yes! I remember them well! Sigh, back in the day.

A LICK AND A PROMISE

'I'll just give this a lick and a promise,' my mother said as she quickly mopped up a spill on the floor
without moving any of the furniture. 'What is that supposed to mean,' I asked as in my young mind I envisioned someone licking the floor with his or her tongue.
'It means that I'm in a hurry and I'm busy canning tomatoes so I am
going to just give it a lick with the mop and promise to come back and do the
job right later.

'A lick and a promise' was just one of the many old phrases
that our mothers, grandmothers, and others used that they probably heard from
the generations before them. With the passing of time, many old phrases become
obsolete or even disappear. This is unfortunate because some of them are
very appropriate and humorous. Here is a list of some of those memorable old
phrases:

1. A Bone to Pick (someone who wants
to discuss a disagreement)

2 An Axe to Grind (Someone who has a hidden
motive. This phrase is said to have originated from Benjamin Franklin who told a
story about a devious man who asked how a grinding wheel worked. He ended up
walking away with his axe sharpened free of charge)

3. One bad apple spoils the whole barrel
(one corrupt person can cause all the others to go bad if you don't remove the
bad one)

4. At sea
(lost or not understanding something)

5. Bad Egg (Someone who was not a good person)


6. Barking at a knot
(meaning that your efforts were as useless as a dog barking at a
knot.)

7. Barking up the wrong tree
(talking about something that was completely the wrong issue with the wrong
person)

8. Bee in your bonnet
(To have an idea that won't let loose )

9. Been through the mill (had a rough time of it)

10.Between hay and grass (Not a child
or an adult)

11. Blinky (Between
sweet and sour as in milk)

12.Calaboose (a jail)

(Something that sits crooked such as a piece of furniture sitting at an angle)

Well, if you
hold your horses, I reckon I'll get this whole kit and caboodle done and sent
off to you. Please don't be too persnickety and get a bee in your bonnet because
I've been pretty tuckered out and at sea lately because I'm no spring
chicken. I haven't been just stringin' around and I know I'm not the only
