The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That's my idea of a perfect day!

Friendship

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself (and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your ' coke/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!)

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in their address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

We all can think of friends who are just simple friends and we can Praise The Lord for those real friends. I for one is going to work to make my simple friends real friends.

Read It Again

Our Sunday Bulletin was a picture of a Grandmother and a grandson reading a book. Here is the quote from the back cover.

READ IT AGAIN
"Can we read this one again, Gram?" my grandson asked as he climbed onto my lap clutching his favorite book. THE POKY LITTLE PUPPY We had already read it several times. After about the fifth, I could pause midsentence, and he would complete it. When I turned to the last page Tyler declared, "No desserts unless puppies never dig holes again!" That's how I like to read the Bible. I can't grasp a portion of Scripture after reading it once. Sometimes I read the same verses every day for a month. When I'm not sure what to read. I turn to a favorite passage and delight in its promises again. Before I know it, I can pause midverse and complete it from memory. I like to imagine my heavenly Father smiling as I climb onto His lap, clutching my Bible, and Ask, "Can we read this one gain, Dad?"

A Sun Shining Sunday

I am sitting here at my computer smelling spring in the house as it penetrates through windows being open. Right now it is 73 and the sun is still shining. My Hubby is outside cleaning an area to add to my back yard. Sorry to say I am a person who really does not like to clean up outside. Yes, I will work in my flower bed, but that is all.

Thank you for the comments on my post about a job interview. I was the first person to be interviewed and I do not know how many more will be interviewed. So while I am waiting for an answer I am subbing. Wednesday I saw 13 year old boys act like 8 year olds. The weather has been fanatic and I decided to taken my afternoon classes outside after they got their work done. I told them they had to be still while working. Well, it did not take long for the boys to make sure everyone was still so they could go out. All of them had a wonderful time and even the grass stain on jeans did not mean anything. On Friday I subbed again and had some of those boys come up to me and thank me for letting them go outside and their Mothers were not upset about washing grass stained jeans.

Around here on Saturday, it rained most of the day. That meant nothing to me as I went to an all day preaching. The theme of the eight sermons was BEING READY FOR THE COMING OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST AND HOW WE WILL KNOW HIM WHEN HE COMES. Here are some of the topics preached:

Thanks For Prays

Good day to all. Thank you all for the prays that went up for me concerning the interview I had this morning. Have you been in a situation where you knew the Lord was sitting by your side? That is what happened this morning. The words that came out of my mouth were from God. This is a position working for a Christian organization that works with troubled children. I do not know how many they are interviewing, but I was the very first one. This is one time my age meant nothing. What did was all the years of experiences I have experienced. I was feeling the prays from the time I parked the car to the end of the interviews. Thanks so much.

I have prayed God will not mine.

Tuesday In Other Words

Today's post is my 200th post. Blogging began on September 1, 2007. The blog was began as a journal that no one would see. Well, Creation In Progress, has progressed to bring humor, encouragement, pray, and just rambling at times. Something I never imagined was making the blog friends I have made. I was wondering what kind of post I would do for a momentous occasion and I saw the quote for Tuesday In Other Words and because of a Ladies Bible Study this morning and a telephone call this afternoon I am going to make comments of the quote.

One of the most wonderful things about knowing God is that there's always so much more to know, so much more to discover. Just when we least expect it, He intrudes into our neat and tidy notions about who He is and how He works.

First the Ladies Bible Study, studied a lesson on Miriam, Mose's sister. For most of us a verse in Exodus 15:21-22 shot out with information we all had skimmed over time and time again. The fact was Miriam was a prophetess. We all knew she was there to make sure Moses was raised for His formative years by His Mother but, the fact She grew up to be a leader for Her people was a discovery. It is so wonderful to know God is going to show us, teach us, and allow us to discover more and more from the Bible.

As some of you know, I am waiting for an answer to a pray I prayed 14 years ago for change to happen in my life. Through these years I have learning how He has intruded in my neat and tidy life to show me how He words work. Well this afternoon I received a telephone call from an organization I visited last fall about a job and left a cover letter and resume. I figured before I left the parking lot what I had left went into the trash. Well, the neat and tidy notion was so wrong. This organization is now looking for an Administrative Assistant and the HR person pulled out my resume and I have an interview April 17, 2008 at 9:00 AM. How God works is fantastic. I am going into the interview with God by my side. I pray that the interviewer sees something that she sees if this is the answer to the pray. If not, I will continue job looking.

May we continue to discover new and wondrous things in our Bible reading and our study of the word.

The Whisnants

Hubby and I enjoy going to Southern Gospel concerts and Saturday night we were previous to see and listen to The Whisnants from South Carolina. They have been on the Southern Gospel charts for a few years and have a #1 at this time.

During the two years I was ill I was able to see them three times in our area. One of the songs that speak to my heart is "Even In The Valley" Their web site is www. thewhisnats.com You can go to their site and listen to any and all of their music. Here are the lyrics to the song.

The chorus is sung a number of times and each time I hear the words my heart and body heals and joy enters. I know God is Good Even in the valley. Durning the concert they told us about a valley they were going through. Someone set their recording studio on fire and the whole building burnt to the ground.

Tell The Truth

Today I paid a visit to the college I graduated from to attend a Job Fair. Very interesting and I saw a few people I knew. After arriving home I decided to work on cleaning out my e-mail and this is one I wanted to save. I received this from a cousin of mine and it brought back what a Professor had stated in one of my classes. This is funny to me, but to many it may not be.

At Duke University, there were four sophomores taking chemistry
and all of them had an 'A' so far. These four friends were so confident,
that the weekend before finals, they decided to visit some friends and
have a big party. They had a great time, but after all the hearty partying;
they slept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Duke until early
Monday morning.

Rather than taking the final then, they decided that after the final they
would explain to their professor why they missed it. They said that they
visited friends but on the way back they had a flat tire. As a result, they
missed the final. The professor agreed they could make up the final the
next day.

The guys were excited and relieved. They studied that night for the exam.
The Professor placed them in separate rooms and gave them a test booklet.
They quickly answered the first problem worth 5 points. Cool, they thought!
Each one in separate rooms, thinking this was going to be easy.... then they
turned the page. On the second page was written....

Thankful Thursday

Good day to all. The theme for Thankful Thursday this week is kindness. First, I am thankful for the life God has extended me. He has given me time to reflect on a pray I prayed and to look forward to His answer to that pray.

I am thankful for a son-in-law who loves my daughter and wants to become a Youth Minister. He will begin in His first ministry on May 1st in a small Church in Midland, Michigan.

Also, I am thankful for Universe that God made in seven days and the opportunity to teach that in a Science class after they had watched a video on the Universe and the Big Bang theory. I was able to say that there are other theories and one of those theories says the Universe is thousands of years old, not million or billion years old.

They may seem unusual in discussing kindness, but each shows me how kind God is in my life and my extended family.

I would like to tell you about my Mom's side of the family and the reason why our reunion began. My Mom is the middle child of 13. My grandmother was from southern Indiana and lived in Paoli, Indiana all her adult life. In 1959 Her husband, my grandfather passed away from a major stroke. Grandma lived in the house that had no in door plumbing and cooked on a wood stove. In the 1960's water was brought into the house and all her children bought her a electric cook stove. Grandma enjoy life until she fell and broke her hip in 1972 and had to go into a nursing home. She lived and died in 1974. Nine of her children were still alive and as they were talking at the funeral realized they were only getting together when someone died. The Robbins Reunion began in the summer of 1974 with 4 generations beginning it. I do not remember how many made the first one, but the place it was held was in a little park with a stream running by. There was a play ground for the children to play on. This year will be the 31ft reunion and expectations that 125 people will attend. If Grandma was still alive there would be 6 generations of her family at the reunion. As I tell people I have family in most every town from Bedford, Indiana. I now have an Aunt and an Uncle still alive from a beginning family of 13. I have one Aunt still alive who married a brother of my Mom's. Her family alone adds up to over 100. Family comes to Southern Indiana from Illinois, Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio, Missouri, Michigan, and Indiana on the second weekend of August. We meet for two fantastic days of music, food, and fellowship.

Sun Shining Sunday

First, I would like to thank Karen of Karen's Korner for these awards. Karen is a wonderful blog friend and you are welcome to visit her blog any time.

Being a substitute teacher gets interesting. Friday was one of those days. It was a day of showing a video in a Science class for Middle School students. The same one I had Wednesday and Thursday. The greetings were mixed. The topic was the Universe and three theories of how the universe was formed and how old it is. The main theory was the Big Bang happening. I praised the Lord in each of the 8 classes I showed this video. At the end of each showing I stated there are more theories and one is that the universe is thousand years old instead of million and billion years. I told them to decide who they were to believe. I was privileged to watch the wonder in some students faces as they were seeing how the universe is was seen and studied by men and women of Science.

I am in wonder of yesterday and today with the smell of Spring, the sun shine, and the warm temperatures. I have sweaters and sweat shirts on the cloth line drying. I have been outside working in my wild flower beds. I see green coming up and I praise the Lord for the wonder of it all.

39 Years

Today 39 years ago I married my Husband in Sheldon, Illinois at 2:00 PM on a beautiful sun shining Saturday afternoon. The cost of the wedding and reception came to under $500. I know that today we could not have gotten married on that cost. We are celebrating with a dinner and a Southern Gospel Concert.

Thank's So Much

Hello all. A short note. I have been substitute teaching this week with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in music. All the classes got to see a DVD of the Blue Man Group. For me the DVD brougnt back memories of seeing them in concert in person in Chicago, ILL. two years ago. I was privavage sit in the third row of the plastic seats. Was fantastic experience for me. Tommorow I will be substitute teacing the same age group in General Science. Please pray.


I want to thank Grandma of Greatful Livin for a beautiful award she made. Saturday I will be passing it on to friends I have met while blogging. Thank You so much Grandma.

Tuesday In Other Words

This is the quote for today and as I was reading it the thought of assessing our thoughts and beliefs was an idea I had not considered for a few years. Yes, I had assessed my beliefs in the past. The time was in our thirteenth year of marriage. I was grieving the death of a daughter and really angry with God. I felt God would never forgive me for the anger. Then about three years after that I found a job and made friends with someone. I began telling her about my anger and during that year I began to heal and when the time came of the anniversary of my daughters birth and death I had completely forgotten about her. God never gave up on me and the healing began and I came extremely closer to the Lord as the grace came in buckets of tears. Today this daughter would be 34 years old and I know remember my time with her with pleasant thoughts which come from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Maybe it is time again for me to make an assessment of my life with and for the Lord. I want to be like Him and to conform more each day to do just that. I know that I am moving closer each day even with the steps backwards.
