What a fantastic Friday I had. I spent the day Subbing with High School kids in World History and Sociology. World History is a love of mine. The two classes I taught liked the fact of having a Substitute teacher. I provided a review before they took a pop quiz. As they were leaving the classroom I heard words like: You were amazing. Can you come a teaches again. I liked the way you taught us. The Sociology class was smaller and those students participated in the lesson. I was able to give examples for the word vocabulary they worked on. In this class they took a test on vocabulary and I hope they did well. A sad end to the day came when one of the students in the Sociology class was called out of the classroom and given some bad news. I knew I could not hug Her, but I did tell her I would be praying for her and she did not have to take the test. This upset the rest of the class, but no one went to her to give comfort. If I was 10 years younger I would go back to school and get a degree in Secondary Teaching. That is not possible so I will continue to be a Substitute Teacher.

I received this from a friend and I want to share it with my blog friends and anyone who visits.
What would you do if every time you wanted someone
they would never be there?
What would you do if for every moment you were truly
happy there would be 10 moments of sadness?
What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow
and you never got to tell them how you felt?
So, I just wanted to say, even if I never talk to you
again in my life, you are special to me and you have
made a difference in my life.
I look up to you, respect you, and truly cherish you.

I'll bet yo do make a fantastic teacher. Glad you got that opportunity.
Good Morning Joyce,
I'm so glad you got to substitute again and that you enjoyed it. I'm sorry about the Student that got some bad news. It's a shame that no one gave her a hug and comforted her. Do they have a rule that the teacher's can't hug? I know the teachers here at our School hug students. Now Joyce, one is never to old to go back and get a degree in teaching. You would be such a great teacher and I know the Students would enjoy you being a full time teacher. The note you shared at the end of your post is very touching. "THANK YOU" for sharing it with us. It does make a person stop and think about their friends. I posted some pictures on my post today of the Snow we got on Friday. Take care my friend and have a great day. May God Bless You and Yours.
Love & Hugs,
Karen H.
There's nothing quite so wonderful as a good substitute who can hold the attention of the students and receive such compliments at the end of the day. It's not an easy thing to do and I commend you. I understand how you might wish to get a degree and teach full-time, but kids and teachers NEED quality substitutes ... and perhaps you're just where God wants you to be ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
God bless you for having a heart for the hurting student. The world needs more people like you!
