Good morning all. Sitting here trying to stay warm and found an old English song on www.carols.org.uk and want to share it with you. I do remember hearing the song, but many years ago.
"The origins of I saw three ships are unknown but it is believed to be an English carol from the Victorian era. The theme for I saw three ships is extremely optimistic and the repetition rate of the chorus lines of I Saw three ships ensure that the carol will be well remembered. Author of the lyrics and composer of the music for I saw three ships is unknown."
I SAW THREE SHIPS
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
I saw three ship come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day?
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day in the morning?
The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Pray, wither sailed those ships all three.
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Pray, wither sailed those ships all three.
On Christmas Day in the morning?
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the bells, on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the bells on earth shall ring.
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing.
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the souls on earth shall sing.
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Then let us all rejoice again.
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Good Morning Joyce,
What a beautiful song. I've never heard that song before myself. It is very touching and says the true meaning of Christmas. It is a cold morning here as well. Just no Snow. I was wanting some Snow so bad. Hopefully we will get some this Winter. I wanted to let you know, you are the first one to know, but hubby just called me a few minutes ago. He had talked to a guy from his previous employer and they are hiring my hubby and his Uncle. "PRAISE GOD". They are to be there to be hired on January 2, 2008. Him and his Uncle will be running teams again. Another thing is that the guy told him they will be splitting 44 Cents a mile. They usually start teams out at 22 Cents a mile, but since hubby and his Uncle had driven for them before and knew how hard they worked, he told them he would give them 44 Cents a mile to split. "PRAISE GOD" for that as well. I will tell everyone else on tomorrow's post. Well, take care my friend and have a great Monday. May God Bless You and Yours. Stay warm. Wanna have a cup of coffee with me? I have plenty.
Hugs,
Karen H.
Good morning Joyce! It is a feat to stay warm this morning. We have a staggering 18 degrees. BRRRRR. This is a lovely song, I remember it from my childhood. I think it my have been on an Andy Williams Christmas album...way back when. It is so nice to read the lyrics. I love the Hymns of Christmas. Have a great WARM Day! (((hugs)))
