Tuesday

This is a rainy Tuesday in my part of the United States. I have just returned home from a Ladies Bible Study I have just started to attend. The discussion and study was concerning Dorcas, a woman who took care of the widows in her Church. You will find her story in Acts 9:36-42. She was able to submit to God with the talent she was given each time she made a garment for one of the women she knew. Dorcas may not have been wealthy with money, but she was rich beyond her means giving to those in need of clothing. One of the questions in the study asked "List ways you can be more generous in giving to others in need." I have been thinking on that question on my drive home and have come up with a big blank. I am an encourager, is that a need? Or I send e-mail cards to individuals. Or I help our a couple with young children. Are these ways to help those in need? I know I want to be more like Dorcas and will work towards it daily.

Hi, Joyce. Nice to meet you! Congratulations on finishing college! Wow. What is OLS?

I teased our oldest son that I was going to go to college with him full time, but now we have a little one, so he's relieved that won't be happening. :0)

Hey Mom,
I think that you are helping those in need. I think that helping others doesn't always have to involve giving money. You give people encouragement and that is something they need. You and Dad have always been generous even though you have never really had alot of money. You take the kids to youth haven and give food and other things to youth haven. Dad always grows too much sweet corn for just you guys. Where does that go? To other people. Some people just want to have someone to talk to. That is why you had so many people want to talk to you when you went to visit PNC. You are a good listener and that is fulfilling a need that other people have. Romans 12:8 says that encouraging is a gift from God and you are using your gift. So don't be discouraged. Everyone has differnt gifts that fulfill different needs for different people.

Love ya,
Michelle

Aye indeed, your gift of encouragement is sorely needed in a society filled with sarcasm and negativism. God bless you for such a gift!
